The Protecting Consumers from Unreasonable Credit Rates Act overcomes that problem and puts all consumer transactions on the same, sustainable , path by establishing a 36 percent interest rate as the cap and applying that cap to all credit transactions. In doing this, individuals are protected, excessive interest levels for small-dollar loans will likely be curtailed, and customers should be able to make use of credit more sensibly.
