• Fixed an issue that sometimes caused the display to darken when images were viewed by pressing the button. Power the camera from AC adapter unit or use a fully charged battery.
I’m still running 10.9.5 and I always remove the memory cards. I only suggest doing that because lots of people forget to Road Rash disable auto-import pop-ups like Capture One.
The A7RII never changed state – when I reinserted the battery, the red activity LED bottom right back came on whether the power switch was on or off. In that state, when plugged into either of the two Macbook Pro USB ports, the computer never mounted the A7RII as a volume, and the Sony software kept saying to plug in the camera even though it already was.
Be certain all other programs and applications are shot down and nothing but the camera is plugged into the computer. The camera must be connected with a Sony USB cord and plugged directly into the computer not through a hub. Before I begin, I’d like to know if updating erases all of my settings.
Be sure to put it somewhere you can find it easily the next time. Find a friend with Mac OS 10.7 or older and use their Mac to run you update. Any chance you have a link to the correct firmware so i don’t get it wrong again. Just as I suspected you’re attempting to run a firmware for a7II on an a7SII. The cord was just taken from the box and appears to work, it will allow me to access the SD card and charge.
Disconnect the USB cable, power off the camera, then remove the battery pack or AC adapter. On the camera, press the center button of the Control Wheel to reset the camera. When the following screen is displayed, check the version number at the lower left. Connect the camera to your computer using the supplied USB cable. You must be logged in with Admin privileges in order to run an update. Disable all pop-ups and security software while running updates. • Fixed an issue that resulted in exposure not reflecting changes to shutter speed in movies shot in exposure mode M at a frame size and rate of 1920×1080; 24p.
I’d imagine it will be in their next update which should be 8.3.4 but I have not seen that announced. To be honest Im having the similar issues with the playmemories site, it doesn’t recognise that the camera is connected, regardless of whether I use Chrome / Safari, MASS Storage or MLB . Reconnect the battery pack or AC adapter and power on the camera.
You need to find a Mac running 10.12-10.14 or Windows PC if you want to run this update. Hi Steve, a6500 firmware 1.06 was released May 16, 2019 – long before Catalina.
Like I said, just updated both a7Riii and a7iii, no issues. I’m past the security issue, and get the dialog box stating to connect the camera to the computer. I have been trying to update the a6500 to 1.06 from 1.05 and can’t get it to work. Just follow the steps listed here, including when to connect the camera. I presume this is a case of Sony software that needs to be updated, but thought I’d run it by you just in case there’s a work around. You can€™t use this version of the application €œFirmwareUpdater€ with this version of macOS. Only way I can help it is by either adjusting my settings or by turning it off and on which doesn’t always work unless getting my battery out and inserting it again.
